The Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach is proud to announce the launch of its Community Business Preservation Program, an initiative designed to support and sustain Palm Beach’s locally owned businesses by providing strategic resources and assistance to help them survive and thrive.
Local businesses, and the passionate people who run them, are the heartbeat of Palm Beach. From bookstores to coffee shops to tailors and more, having walkable, unique places for residents to shop and socialize is vital to keeping Palm Beach vibrant.
Unfortunately, rising rents, seasonal shopping trends, and other factors are threatening to displace business owners from the island. Sensing the urgent need for assistance, this March, the Preservation Foundation started the Community Business Preservation Program, chaired by Executive Committee member Charles M. Royce.
The Community Business Preservation Program provides technical, financial and promotional assistance to local business owners to bridge critical gaps for local business owners by offering customized support and practical resources. Program assistance for local businesses includes:
- Development of tailored marketing strategies and promotional plans that businesses can implement year-round
- Dedicated business listings on the Preservation Foundation’s website, including an interactive map highlighting participating businesses
- Promotion through the Foundation’s social media and digital communications channels
- Technical assistance and advisory support for lease negotiations
- Financial guidance and strategic assistance for relocation efforts when needed
Grant or loan assistance will be considered on a rolling basis for businesses in need, who can prove a history of community impact and demonstrate a sustainable future path.
