Wyeth, King & Johnson designed this mansion for Louis J. Horowitz, whose previous home (designed by Hunt & Hunt) was lost to a fire in December of 1954. It does not appear that Wyeth’s design was ever built. Horowitz was a seasonal Palm Beach resident and was the retired president of Thompson-Starrett Co., the New York City engineering company that built the Waldorf Astoria and the Woolworth building.
