In 1938, Dr. William and Isabel George commissioned a house from Henry Harding. The residence, known as Tranquility, predates he Foundation’s Harding architectural collection (1945-1984) and no drawings of the house are extant. It is believed to be the only Harding designed residence in West Palm Beach.

The style of the house is a relatively rare example of British Colonial-Bermuda architecture in West Palm Beach. Typical of Harding designs, the front façade is perfectly symmetrical with the second story balcony and a colonnaded first floor porch. The second-floor balcony railing is accentuated with a starburst design.

The residence was built on South Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach before it was relocated to the El Cid Historic District by trailer and barge on November 18, 2001. Henry Harding Jr., the architect’s son, witnessed the move.

The structure is listed in the West Palm Beach Register of Historic Places.
