Wyeth & King designed this residence for Worthington Scranton, president of the Scranton Gas and Water Company. The city of Scranton, Pennsylvania was named after his grandfather, Joseph Hand Scranton. Wyeth & King also designed an estate for the Scrantons in Dalton, Pennsylvania. The plan is centered around a patio with direct views of the ocean and features a lanai, or outdoor living room. The house was featured in a 1944 edition of Architectural Forum.
