Pan’s Garden, a project of the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach which opened in 1994, is a botanical garden devoted to Florida’s native plants. The garden provides an open space transition between the Worth Avenue commercial district and adjacent residential areas. Pan’s Garden embodies the mission of the Preservation Foundation, which is to preserve the architectural and cultural heritage and the unique scenic quality of the Town of Palm Beach.
Pan’s Garden incorporates upland and wetland areas designed to display indigenous trees, shrubs, grasses, and wild flowers in naturally occurring relationships to each other. The garden’s heavily planted over one-half acre area showcases more than 300 species of native plants, of which many are endangered. Cultivars of native species are planted in seasonal floral display areas to highlight possible choices for home landscaping.
